For a mildly sore throat reflexology techniques can be extremely useful in relieving pain.
For best effect do the techniques to the fingers, although they can be done onto the toes as well.
Before beginning be sure to have a big glass of water- this makes the reflexology techniques more effective and will help send more good cells to the sore throat and help fight infection.
Always start on the right hand, do all of the steps, and then do all of the left hand.
Begin by rotating the fingers. Start at the thumb - hold the thumb at the base of the thumb and rotate in large slow circles- to give the bottom thumb joint a good stretch. Move upwards to hold onto the thumb just above second joint and repeat the circular rotations.
Do this to each joint on every finger.
Next, use the forefinger and thumb, squeeze all around the base section of the thumb. There may be the feeling of crackling or crystals under the skin here, keep applying pulsing squeezing pressure all around the base section (between bottom joint and second bone joint) until all the crystals/ crackling is gone.
Move onto the forefinger and repeat- repetitively squeezing all around the base section (between bottom bone joint and second bone joint) for a minute or until all crackling has gone.
Repeat for all fingers of the hand, then do all the above steps onto the other hand.
This whole reflexology technique will take about ten minutes, if only a little relief is felt after ten minutes do for up to twenty minutes.
